Privacy Policy

Eatlytics (“Eatlytics,” “we,” “us”) is a meal-logging app that estimates the calories and macronutrients of your meals from a photo, a spoken description, or typed text, and surfaces trends over time. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and name. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email (or Apple’s private relay email) you choose to share.
• Meal content you submit. Photos of meals and nutrition labels, voice recordings of meal descriptions, and any text descriptions you enter. These are processed to estimate nutrition and are stored with your account so you can review your log.
• Nutrition and goal data. The macro estimates, meals, favorites, and the daily targets you set.
• Usage and device data. Basic app usage needed to run the service, your time zone, and — if you enable notifications — a push notification token for your device.
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active trial or subscription. Payments are handled by Apple; we do not receive or store your card details.

How we use your information

• To analyze your meals and produce nutrition estimates.
• To store your meal history, favorites, and goals, and to show you trends and insights.
• To send the daily logging reminder and insight notifications you opt into (you can turn these off at any time in Settings).
• To operate, secure, and improve the app.
• To manage your subscription and trial.

Third-party services

We share the minimum data necessary with service providers who process it on our behalf:

• OpenAI — processes your meal photos, voice transcriptions, and text descriptions to generate nutrition estimates and insights. Submitted content is sent to OpenAI’s API for this purpose.
• Clerk — handles account sign-up, authentication, and session management.
• RevenueCat and Apple — manage subscriptions, trials, and in-app purchases.
• Apple Push Notification service / Expo — deliver push notifications to your device if you enable them.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.

Data retention

We keep your account and meal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with it, except where we are required to retain limited records (for example, to comply with tax or legal obligations).

Your choices and rights

• Access and deletion. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting us at the email below.
• Notifications. You can disable daily reminders in Settings or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings.
• Permissions. Camera, photo, and microphone access are only used when you choose to capture or describe a meal, and can be revoked in iOS Settings.

Children

Eatlytics is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app where appropriate.
